Steve Leafers, RPh, FACA, FACVP Honored with 2019 Earl W. “Bill” Bradley Award

The American College of Veterinary Pharmacists (ACVP) presented the 2019 Earl W. “Bill” Bradley Award to Steve Leafers, RPh, FACA, FACVP of Muskegon, Michigan.

The award is presented biennially to a member of ACVP who has shown outstanding service to veterinary pharmacy. The presentation was made during the President’s Banquet on February 9 at the at the ACA |ACVP Annual Conference and Expo at the Don CeSar Hotel in St. Pete Beach, Florida.

As a Fellow of both ACVP and ACA, Leafers has continually shown his commitment to veterinary pharmacy and dedication to share clinical information and insights with his peers and to encourage others to do the same. As an ACVP Officer, Leafers has consistently gone “above and beyond” with his willingness to serve when called upon to contribute a presentation, article, or response on the ACVP listserv.

Leafers has more than 40 years of experience in community pharmacy, rising from staff pharmacist to President and Chief Compounding Pharmacist of Watkins Pharmacy, an independent pharmacy and medical supply business in Muskegon, Michigan. He is a 1975 graduate of Ferris State College (now Ferris State University) in Big Rapids, Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.

We always know that he will be one of the first to volunteer and act as a mentor to others. It is truly the support of members like him, that has our organization what it is today and we are proud to call him colleague and friend.
