Washington, D.C. – The Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) has announced Veterinary Pharmacy as its 17th formally recognized specialty certification program and is now accepting applications for specialty council positions and item writers.
This is a historic moment for veterinary pharmacy and our profession! 🎉
The BPS announcement provides details on opportunities for subject matter experts to help shape this new specialty certification program.
Our Mission in Action
This milestone reflects the mission of the American College of Veterinary Pharmacists (ACVP) to advance education, clinical excellence, and the pharmacist’s role in veterinary medicine.
The petition supporting recognition of Veterinary Pharmacy was developed by a dedicated team of experts, including many ACVP Fellows, who demonstrated the critical need and demand for formal specialty recognition in veterinary pharmacy.
Together, we are advancing the profession and promoting the role of pharmacy professionals in veterinary pharmacotherapy to enhance non-human patient care.
